It’s officially the Halloween season at Disney’s Magic Kingdom! But what happens if it rains during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party?
Florida is called the “sunshine state” but it does occasionally rain….even at the Happiest place on earth. In the summer months, there is often a daily passing thunderstorm. Here’s the good news, just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you need to sit in your hotel room. In fact, you can still do most activities you already have planned! In this case, you can still enjoy the open attractions at the party and explore the park.
Pack a poncho: Don’t pay a premium to buy them at the theme park when it starts raining. If the forecast is showing rain, bring them to the park. You will see lots of folks leaving when the rain starts (because they didn’t plan ahead) but you will be good to go! I don’t recommend using an umbrella, they are a hassle to carry around and hard to navigate the parks using them. If you are going to be traveling with a stroller think about bringing a plastic cover for your stroller—an adult poncho works in a pinch! And don’t forget a Ziploc bag to protect your phone from getting wet!
Again, if it’s raining, you can still experience attractions! Some of our favorite indoor attractions are still open during rainy days and these are sure to not dampen your holiday spirit at Magic Kingdom.
Here’s the list of rides available during the party:
There are multiple entertainment offerings during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Mickey’s Boo to You Halloween Parade was scheduled for two performances last night. The first was canceled due to rain but the second was able to perform. We understand a big appeal of the Halloween Party is the stage show, parade, and fireworks.
Disney will do their best by delaying these performances if there is rain, but they can cancel them if the bad weather persists. If enough performances are canceled, you could always go to guest services to see if they can possibly accommodate your party for a future event date. But this is only in extreme cases if the weather cancels enough of the party festivities!
