Florida football will have a chance of rain in The Swamp, familiar announcers will be making the call, and five Gators will be out with injuries.

Last week much of the storyline for Florida vs Utah was if the Utes could handle the humidity of The Swamp. Utah players were puking in the first quarter, so the answer was no.

Kentucky is a bit more used to the climate of the SEC so there shouldn’t be first-quarter projectile vomit.

As of now, it is projected to be  78 degrees at kickoff with a feels-like temperature of 83. Rain could be a factor as there is a 54% chance of scattered thunderstorms at 7 PM. Bring your ponchos just in case.

Joe Tessitore will be handling the play-by-play duties while Greg McElroy will be doing the color commentary. Tessitore has been with ESPN forever and his main forte is doing play-by-play for Top Rank Boxing.

Tessitore spent three years as the play-by-play guy for Monday Night Football before being invited to not do that anymore.

McElory, the former Alabama QB, has been with ESPN since 2014.

The Gators officially announced five players will be out of commission for Saturday’s tilt. Jack Miller, Jaydon Hill, David Conner, and Arlis Boardingham all missed the game vs Utah and will be out again.

The only new player on the list is one that could be a storyline if his replacement goes south. Long snapper Marco Ortiz suffered an injury against Utah and will be out vs Kentucky. Florida utilized freshman Rocco Underwood in his place.

When Florida football released its uniform schedule for the entire season, it was notable because Florida will still be opting for blue uniforms against Kentucky. In the past, Florida normally uses this game to trot out an orange scheme it may have.

Florida hasn’t really pushed fans on a particular color scheme for Saturday, so it will be interesting to see if fans show up in orange or if it’s a mixture of blue and orange.
