With heavy rain forecast in Manchester for the weekend , those attending the Caribbean Carnival might want some extra backup when it comes to being waterproof.
Luckily, Amazon is selling emergency ponchos for the whole family, and they’ve received over a hundred five-star reviews.
The disposable transparent ponchos are small enough to fit in a bum bag. They’re available in one size, but reviews suggest that they’ll fit the whole family.
Because they’re transparent, people will still be able to appreciate your outfit when the heavens open.

Each pack currently costs £8.97 and contains five ponchos, which works out at £1.80 per item.
Amazon users can’t stop raving about the ponchos, and some of the reviews are enough to make you want to buy one even if it’s not raining.
Some of the best reviews on site include:
“It's pocket size, so perfect for bum bags/fanny packs. I wore mine throughout the festival (rained for most of it), really easy to reuse. They dry quickly and can easily fit back in the pocket size packs. They are also surprisingly warm. Great purchase!”
“I was actually quite surprised about the quality of these. You can use them several times with no problem. Perfect, handy, good value, ponchos to keep you dry in those emergency downpours. A good size to fit the whole family!”
“Excellent disposable ponchos that pack down to smaller than the size of a wallet. Perfect as a backup if you don't want to haul a raincoat with you - e.g. theme parks etc. I've used a few disposable ponchos previously and this was my favourite in terms of quality and fit - I'll be sticking with it for sure in future.”
“I bought these for a festival in May. These are compact, fit easily in your bag and keep you dry when it does rain! Strong enough to do the job, ideal to sit on too if the rain eases off! Would recommend.”
The most memorable review, though, comes courtesy of one very happy theme park-goer: “I was laughing all the way to the bank when I stepped of the log flume dry as a bone and with a perfectly dry bag to boot. Everyone else was too cool to wear the poncho (I kindly bought 6). Fools. Who's the cool one now?”
